cardio/pilates

Ok, today I officially start the diet.  This time I am really committed.  Toby didn’t get his walk because of the bad weather, but I will try and make it a point to get it in tomorrow.   I am very happy that I got my workout in.  At the end of the day, I was not really interested in running or staying late for pilates.  But I did.  I had to tell myself that once I got my shoes on, I would be fine.  Even if I just walked the track it was better than nothing.  Then i had an awesome run.  The first few loops were rough but then my body warmed up.  I also met a running buddy who really pushed me.  I am going to try and run with him on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  Pilates was ok, but not great.  I prefer Jennifer’s class to Jeans’ but what can I do.  I will just have to try again on Thursday to see who teaches and also try the AM classes (or just ask Jodi).  Until tomorrow.

Prep for Tomorrow

1. Outfit: New black long sweater, green dress pants, black heels, silver hoops, silver cuff bracelet.

2. Swim 7-8am, work 8:30-5pm, Work-out (run/weights) 5-6:30pm.

3. Make sexy time with Brad.

My Career Self

I have a degree from a top-ranked university and I will have my Master’s in May.  I have a good job, albeit part-time, that is giving me great experience.  I am doing a good job searching for new jobs and working my connections for a new position. 

1.  Do a better job at my job.  I need to make sure I am giving 100%, every day.  Instead of browsing the web, etc. I need to make sure I am putting in my best work.

My Relationship Self

I am in a good place in terms of my romantic relationship.  I am married to the most wonderful and supportive husband.  He is so in love with me and I with him.  We have a wonderful relationship and are very happy together.  Where I feel my relationship self is lacking is with close personal friends.  I am a typical extrovert with many more superficial friends but not a lot of really close friends.   In terms of family, I think my family is toxic.  We have a lot of unresolved issues that will stay that way.  Right now, my family relationship is where I want it to be.  Close but not that close.

1. More sex.  Sex is a great way to stay close as husband and wife.  We need it to maintain a healthy relationship. I need to put in more of an effort instead of leaving it up to Brad.

2. Make close girlfriends.  How? Identify girls who are close in my age and interest (like Natalie or Kim) and cultivate those friendships.  Don’t be afraid to get close.  Start having girl nights when we move into the new house.  I want a sex and the midland group of friends.

My Physical Self

I think the first step in making a change is identifying where you are and where you want to be.  Here are some good things about my physical self: Healthy (good vitals), athletic, strong, tall, and I’m pretty.

Here are my goals:

1. Lose 40 pounds. I would like my weight to hover in the 150s.  How? Swim every weekday.  Run every weekday.  Strength train 3 times a week.  Workout once a day on weekends.  Eat less than 1500 cal/day.  Finally, keep a food diary. Whew.

2. Dress well.  I like looking good and you should dress for where you want to be in life not where you are in life (unless they are one in the same).  How? Pick out my outfits the night before, always opt for heels and make-up, and in general be a hottie!

The New Me!

Welcome to the first night of the new me.

I’ve started this blog as a way of monitoring the new me.  I know change is a slow process, but that is why the blog will be so good. I can monitor my goals and the steps I have taken to reach them.

I really believe that we, as individuals, have many facets to our personailty.  We have our physical selves, our relationship selves, and our career selves.  Now that I am 24, I want to start becoming the person I should be.  My first step is evaluating where I am and where I want to be.  They can each have their own post.
